The Parent's Checklist for Booking a Mobile Party

Before you put down a deposit on any mobile party, you need four answers: does the vehicle fit at your address, is your date actually available, what is the real total including travel, and what happens if the weather turns. Get those settled and the rest is detail. Here is the whole checklist in the order it matters.

This applies to us and to anyone else you are comparing. If a company cannot answer these plainly, that is information too.

1. Measure Your Space

The single most common reason a booking goes sideways is space. For our trailer you need roughly 60 feet of length for the trailer plus the tow vehicle, 8.5 feet of width plus room for the door to open, and 10 feet of overhead clearance — watch for low branches and wires. Flat and reasonably level matters more than most people expect.

Walk it out before you book. Sixty feet is about twenty adult paces. 2. Lock the Date Early

Saturday afternoons in May, June, September and October are the first slots to go, and they go months out across Oak Lawn, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Naperville, Schaumburg, Evanston and the Northwest Indiana cities. Four to eight weeks is a reasonable target; earlier if your date is a spring Saturday. Detail and the off-season picture are in how far in advance to book a game truck.

Have a second-choice time before you call. Morning and late-afternoon slots are frequently open on days the prime midday slot is gone.

3. Confirm the Real Total

Ask for the number you will actually pay, not the headline package price. For us that means:

• The package rate for the duration you want, listed on the pricing page.
• Additional hours if you want them — currently $250 per hour for the game truck.
• Extra guests beyond the included count, if applicable.
• Travel: free within 30 miles of Oak Lawn, IL 60453, then tiered out to 70 miles. Check your town on the service area page.
• Tax, which is applied at checkout.
• The deposit required to hold the date, charged when you book, with the balance due at the event.

4. Ask About Weather and Cancellation

The trailer is enclosed and climate controlled, so heat, cold and rain are not usually a problem — which is why winter parties work at all, covered in winter birthday parties in Chicago. What you want in writing is the policy for severe weather, for a reschedule, and for cancellation. Ours is on the policies page; read it before you pay, not after.

Outdoor GellyBall is more weather-dependent than the truck. If you are booking combat GellyBall for a shoulder-season date, ask what the rain plan is.

5. Settle the Guest List and Ages

Twelve players fit inside the trailer on stadium seating, and two outdoor stations bring the total to as many as twenty playing at once — which is why "up to 20 players" and "5 HD screens" are both true at the same time. Tell us the real headcount and the age range when you book.

Age matters most for GellyBall. Eight and up plays combat well; younger kids do better with the target gallery. The breakdown is in what ages GellyBall is actually good for.

6. Approve the Game Content

You get to decide what runs. The library spans Minecraft, Mario, sports and racing through to rated-M shooters, and we confirm restrictions with the booking parent before the party. 7. Plan the Day Around the Slot

Setup happens before your start time, and the play time you booked is play time. Practical scheduling notes:

1. Cake and food in the middle, not at the end. Break the session; the coach will pause the games.
2. Tell guests where to park. The trailer takes real curb space, and arriving cars are what block it.
3. Put the arrival window ten minutes before the start so you are not starting with half the group.
4. Have gifts opened after, not during — nobody comes out of the trailer for that.

8. Get the Confirmation in Writing

Before you consider it booked, you should have: date and start time, duration, address, package, the total, the deposit paid, and a contact number for the day of. If any of those is verbal only, ask for it in the email.
